Barmy for a Barbie!

To celebrate National BBQ Week we have teamed up with our flaming hot friends Napoleon Grills to bring you some brilliant BBQ recipes to try at home. Given his near-obsessive passion for cooking outdoors, our Culinary Specialist, Jon Ingram, shows us how to prepare al fresco feasts using our state-of-the-art Napoleon Grills barbecue, knocking the socks off the standard British burgers and bangers.

3) King of Kebabs

Jon not only has a passion for BBQing but also has a love for Middle Eastern flavours that pack a real punch. And his Lamb Shawarma is a serious show-stopper for any sizzling summer shindig – sliced and served on homemade flatbreads, BBQ smoked baba ghanoush and pickled mint and coriander salad pomegranate.

1) The ultimate BBQ brekkie

First up, to kick start the day is Jon’s Ultimate BBQ Brekkie. Think chunky cut streaky bacon, smashed pork patties, avocado and egg bake, freshly BBQ baked English muffins, caramelised beef tomatoes and thyme baked mushrooms.

2) Grill and Graze

The next recipe up from Jon’s BBQ Bible is the perfect appetiser to enjoy with an aperitif (or two!). Jon’s Smoked Onion Pissaladiere’s are cooked pizza style using a pizza stone.
Gorgeously garlicky, filled with sweet caramelised onions on top of a crisp sourdough base – one slice is definitely not enough.
